Anyway I am just starting to be a pyro with explosives and I am set on making RDX as it is extrememly safe for a explosive. I found a way to make it the requires hexamine, nitric acid, and sodium nitrite. Where can I get sodium nitrite? I feel really stupid asking this because for some reason I have the feel that it well end up to be something as simple as salt.

Why would you want to make RDX as a first explosive? Do you know anything about it at all or did you just read something saying it was stable and decided to make it? You cant even detonate it, and if you could I would be scared. 3. Simple searching will tell you where to get sodium nitrate. 4. This looks like an excelent time for Al93535 to test out his new found powers

It did say concentrated nitric acid and it wasn't sodium nitrate I was asking for. I am asking for sodium nitrite. Also, I tried searching and couldn't really come up with anything, I kept on getting an error when I search. And last of all, this is not my first explosive. This will be my first secondary explosive. I just started a little while ago and I am really getting serious.
