masterofdisaster Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 This was our (I work together with Lebanj12) first 8'' shell, but I think it came out pretty well. Here are some pictures taken during assembly: http://www.shrani.si/f/2B/uE/4isU7zFF/1/dsc00121.jpghttp://www.shrani.si/f/o/mJ/1UDkM4bn/dsc00126.jpghttp://www.shrani.si/?1g/pC/3ILUYrWD/img3554.jpg (it's the one with the red lift cup) The shell weighed 2500g and was lifted with 200g of blackpowder.Video: The shell was fired as a part of NYE fireworks.

TrueBluePyro Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Holy crap FREAKYDUTCHMEN, they were awesome, some real nice breaks, what did you use exactly for there breaks? and what break would you use for a 5" ball shell. Brocade shells are really nice.
FREAKYDUTCHMEN Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Thanks, both were meal coated ricehulls and flashbreaks, sorry, can't tell too much about it because it's secret(layers, formula and amount etc.)
ExplosiveCoek Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) Since when is it a secret what you're putting in your shell's Dutchman ? Edited August 13, 2009 by ExplosiveCoek
TrueBluePyro Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Thanks, both were meal coated ricehulls and flashbreaks, sorry, can't tell too much about it because it's secret(layers, formula and amount etc.) Oh well, that isnt very nice now is it, lol. Why is it so secret? just wondering....I'll just have to expiriment my self I guess.
FREAKYDUTCHMEN Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 In the commercial pyro bussiness many things are secret, like compositions, break charge and so on. I've got some information from a friend who owns 2 factories. There are some factories who's hiring pyrotechnicians for sertain effects or colors, these pyro technicians do not tell how the composition is made, because if they do, well then they are superfluous. So it means you have to do quite a lot of test or meet the right persons (with a bit of luck of course).
FREAKYDUTCHMEN Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Here's another vid of 2 shells, first is an 8" bowtie, and the seccond a 6" TT + ti to purple. 8bowtie6chrys.mov Edited January 17, 2010 by FREAKYDUTCHMEN
