PyroMedia Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Im a bit confused on this, how do you calculate them? I have 3/4 id tubes 3 1/2 inch long. what kind of tooling should i buy for them? (1 pound ect..?)
Mumbles Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 The weight characteristic fits both an ID and tube length. It is an old term no longer fully used in context. It is the mass of lead balls the ID of your tube that would completely fill your tube. Being as how the only rockets made at the time this was in use were blackpowder, it corresponds with 10 balls of that size. It's now used to just refer to the ID, and has no bearing on actual length as each type of rocket will use a different length. To answer your question on which tooling to get, the answer is stinger tooling. Your tubes are WAY too short for any other conventional rockets, and will thus not work as intended with any commercial tooling. Rich Wolter's site has the length of tube that corresponds with each set of his tooling. http://www.wolterpyrotools.com/?page=cc_catg&cat=rocket
PyroMedia Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 where could i get good 3/4 tubes to use with the tools there?
