TheSidewinder Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 The IP Gallery automatically resizes uploaded pictures to 1600 x 1200, if they are larger than that to start with. They are displayed at a resolution dependant on your browser, and you can cycle through each picture with the controls on the page that displays a single picture. Another feature within the Gallery is the Lightbox. Any picture with a resolution less than 640 x 480 will not use the Lightbox. Holding your mouse over a picture that can't use the Lightbox just shows you the normal pointer. But if a picture is between 640 x 480 and 1600 x 1200, moving your mouse over the picture turns the pointer into a hotlink indicator. Click on the picture and you wll see how the Lightbox displays your photos in a popup window. Close the Lightbox with the button at the bottom of the window. To use your Gallery pictures as attachments within a Forum post, start at your Gallery with the first picture displayed that you want to use in a post. Then open a second tab (IE 7) or a second instance of your browser (IE 6) by CTRL-clicking the "APC Forum" link at the top-left of that page (located next to the "APC Information Portal Link"). In that second tab/instance start your post. When you get to the point you want to embed a picture, switch to the Gallery tab/instance and click inside the "BBCode" hotlink displayed to the right of your picture. (There are 3 other hotlink options there you can experiment with, but BBCode is the easiest to use.) The link you clicked should be highlighted. Press CTRL-C to copy the link. Switch to the tab/instance with the post editor open, position the cursor where you want the attachment to be, and press CTRL-INSERT to paste the link in it. Continue, repeating the above steps with each picture you want to embed. Here's a sample from my Gallery: http://www.apcforum.net/forums/uploads/1217005379/gallery_45_6_501187.jpg When clicked in this post, it will open a tab to the Gallery that contains the pic, allowing you to view it fullsize with the Lightbox if you wish.
