My grenade comps!!!

Basic's

Grenade Anatomy:

Fuze/Fuse::The delay which ignites the main compasition/mixture can range from 1 second up to 5-6 seconds depending on delay mixture firmness,grade,amounts,ect.

Grenade Body::Can be made of several different things Mainly( Steel "Sheet" metal=Smoke)

Main Comp.::This can be anything from a standard KNO3&Sucrose mixture to about anything!

Pull Pin::The pin that allows the spoon to fly off

Spoon&Stricker::The spoon is the metal piece that hold the stricker in place until the person wants the grenade delay to ignite the stricker hits the primer and ignites the delay.

 

Composition's:

POOR MAN'S SIMPLE SMOKE GRENADE FILLER:

Potassium Nitrate,Sucrose(Sugar) 60/40 mix

DELAY COMP:

Potassium Nitrate,Charcoal,Dextrin(alot of modern military mixe's us borox)65/20/15 Burn Rate (BR) depends on chemical's grade, mixing technique, ect.

You didn't really tell us anything here that I couldn't have looked up on wikipedia or something. Just a list of deffinitions.

 

Now if you had a simple way of making the fuse assembly that would be cool...I think that is the trickiest part. Takes some machining to make the spoon, striker, springs, ect... might be a simple way but I never really tried. Maybe using fake/practice grenades and adding in the primer and fuse compo? Then again if I went to all that work I deffinitly wouldn't make it HE. I would make a smoke grenade so I can use the fuse assemble again....just refill it.

Finally got time to edit this thread. I'm sorry if people thought this was a K3WL recipe book or something, I had no ill intention's. I took out alot. This thread was posted to show the work I started when I first came to the APC forum's mainly all grenades in general. Please use all of this information wisely. Thank You

What has grenades got to do with pyrotechnics? and also no offense but the only thing you have told me is a somke and delay comp and a few component parts of a grenade, not how to make a functioning mechanism or anything like that so i personally do not see the point in this thread but hey i am not an admin so who cares.

Well I will be polite and give you nice answer, 1.Grenades function on chemical reactions and/or combustion. 2. It's smoke not somke. 3. If you read the orginal post! I said "PS:Ill add more later I'm tired i just got off work figured id help new ppl out some more" in other words when I get more free time when im not working I'll add more. I "personally" think if you dont like this thread dont flame! I'm willing to share my knowledge I spent about 2 years to gather,construct, and perfect but not if I get flammed left and right.

I wasn't flamming i was just wondering why people would want to see the construction of a grenade on a pyrotechnic site, you know pyrotechnics as in fountains, shells, rockets etc. not grenades

A grenade doesn't necessarily have to explode. I know I wouldn't mind learning about a smoke grenade that is constructed like a traditional grenade with the pin and handle part and all that.

I agree with FrKoNaLeaSh. Just because he says it is a "grenade" doesn't meen it has to act like one. I too would like to see how it is constructed.

yer fair enough point taken its just the thread was labeled 'grenade comps' and there was no actuall construction described in the thread so i assumed that was it. sorry if i pissed you of Fuze, look forward to your grenade designs etc.
