Yankie Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Just thought I would post this as I have never seen anything like it in a 2" shell. pre fire pics are on the video. youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5oAL_SFXy8 APC file host: http://www.apcforum.net/files/2shellofshells.wmv EDIT: I just remembered Nighthawkinlight made a similar shell, so i have only seen this once.
Swede Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 That's a cool video and a nice effect from such a tiny shell.
Yankie Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 lol, it isn't really that hard, its my 2nd 2" shell. But I have made a fair few smaller ones. Thanks for the comments guys. i plan on building a bigger better one soonish.
oskarchem Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I will have a go at a shell like this, only a bit bigger. Good shell!
flying fish Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I've once tried stuffing 1" plastic ball shells in a 1-7/8" inch canister shell, but I was only able to fit two of them in and still have room for the main stars (Mostly as a result of poor space planning). That video gave me some good ideas! I will have to get off my ass and roll a bunch of those neat little casings though. I was just picturing some color insert-shells with Reaper silver as the main stars. That would look badass (I think)!
Yankie Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Yeah colour would be nice, I think for my next one i will make a 3" or 4" chrysanthemum to white with reeper silver in the mini-shells. If only I could get perchlorate! Happy Bastille Day!
oskarchem Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Happy Bastille Day! Thank's, you are talking about the French national day aren't you? . I have the Polish one coming up too, so in total I get 2 firework days
mormanman Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I may want to try that for 4" ball shell inserts. What were the spects for the mini inserts?
Yankie Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 I'm not quite sure of the exact specifications, but i made them like a normal can shell, but I put the fuse in last by drilling a hole and inserting a peice of BM with electrical tape wrapped around it. they were about 2 by 3cms.
bmarley5780 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 VERY nice! I plan on starting my 4" shell of shells. (ball) For the inserts in have the 7/8" shells. The 4" will fit 24 of these! Should be nice ! -Joe
mormanman Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 VERY nice! I plan on starting my 4" shell of shells. (ball) For the inserts in have the 7/8" shells. The 4" will fit 24 of these! Should be nice ! -Joe Going to be doing something similar to that. Its going to be 4" ball with 4 mini shells (about the same size as Fred's) and the 4" ball will be lined with TT and the mini shells will have D1. Its going to be awesome.
Yankie Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 Heres another with reeper silver inserts, sorry for the dodgey filming, I forgot that I put some stars in with the lift and I thought it flowerpotted. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7HcIP49Z00
Flying dutchman Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) It's a nice idea to put stars into the lifting cup! Looks like a starmine, great shell by the way. Edited August 30, 2008 by Flying dutchman
