Nuetral Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 well i just bought some and does anyone know how to get the kerosine out of it?i was thinking maybe like boil it or something no idea what to do though. maybe it doesnt madder that it has it but i think it does
FrankRizzo Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Fire starter logs are usually of two types, neither of which have paraffin *oil* (kerosene) in them. They are either "fat wood", which is the wood from the center of old pine trees which is full of crystallized pine sap/tar or a mixture of sawdust/wood chips mixed with wax (solid paraffin).
Mumbles Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Why would you need to get kerosine out of firestarter logs in the first place? That stuff is so incredibly cheap.
Nuetral Posted April 6, 2006 Author Posted April 6, 2006 i just want it out of the actual log i dont need the kerosine
weknowpyro Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Don't tell me you want the log to make charcoal.
d4j0n Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I think you're better off finding some hardwood charcoal in that case...
Mumbles Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Way to add nothing d4j0n. We had this problem before, I suggest you shape it up.
Guest pyrokid00000 Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Why not go to the gas station and buy a whole gallon?
Caleb51 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 It has been said by the starter of the post that he doesn't actually want the kerosene, but he wants the log WITHOUT the kerosene in it. So yes, if he wanted gas, he would go to the gas station. If he wants the material firestarter logs are made of, minus kerosene, he will attempt this.
Nuetral Posted April 16, 2006 Author Posted April 16, 2006 doesnt really madder anymorei bought the wrong firestarter logs
kwstag Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Wtf? They don't sell Kerosene at gas stations in USA... You have to get it from hardware stores and what not.
teknix Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Most gas stations around here have kerosene at the pumps.... They usually have 1 pump with it. Gas stations in the city might not have it as common as the country ones because they use the kerosene for farm equipment and such.
FrankRizzo Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Wtf? They don't sell Kerosene at gas stations in USA... You have to get it from hardware stores and what not. Alex, Kerosene, liquid paraffin, diesel, and fuel oil are all pretty much the same stuff.
