2-2inch mines. First is tigertail and veline blue second is veline red. All were 1/2" x 3/8" (cut) stars made in a light diffuser. Mortars were about 8" tall. Fired using my electric firing panel and homemade ematches. Quickmatched into the top, with match leading into stars not lift. Used a lifting disk of cardboard with 1/8" holes punched to allow flame to reach lift.

Each mine had approx 40g stars and 10g of corned -4+10 willow BP lift.

Those were two VERY nice mines, Bonny. Good work!

Nice mines. I thought that to lift 40g of stars 10g lift should be overkill, but it's not that fast i think after i saw the vid.

Very nice mines still :) . But i think that sound can get much better with faster bp.

I use coarse lift to get a nice thump and not destroy the stars rather than the bang I get when using -10+20.

Very nice!...I love the mix of blues with TT, C6/8 or Al streamers.

Well there's my next TO DO! Beautiful!

Bonny, is it necessary to prime the Veline Stars?

In mines that light the stars befor the lift, you MIGHT get away without priming, but I've never tried. I prime all my veline stars as I make them. I usually use 1 layer of "Veline style" prime and then a layer of meal or BP prime, depending on what's handy. I have left out the BP layer by accident, and they still worked though.

Here is the prime I use for veline (and other perc stars):

KClO4-62

C-22

MgAl (200M)-7

Dextrin-4

Al (dark)-3

CuO-2

+2 or 3 % woodmeal (I use sawdust 40mesh I think)

Bonny,

Very nice mines. I am working on 1.75" (2") set with Ruby Red and Wilbur's Blue stars. I will post when completed.

Thank you for posting the lift and star weights, that gives me a good starting point that I can dial in the best amounts. You and I have the same ideas on BP.

Thanks again for the post!
