TheSidewinder Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Read, read, read. Then read some more. What you seek can be found here in the posts. It's a common problem, and some members have found very good ways to accomplish what they want.
BPinthemorning Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 For the record, plain salutes and explosives should always be handled with care, and never by a novice firework builder... You appear to be a novice because of your 2 posts, so lets stay away from salutes and work on some rockets, and basic fountains. Build your way up. and avoid salutes.
Swede Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Caleb, I correspond with friends in Australia. Every year, they get together and cook 500 lb of willow charcoal. Sulfur and potassium nitrate can usually be found as horticultural products. There's your Black Powder. Now you have the foundation for some safe Pyro. Rockets, lift, burst, fountains... along with the BP, you'll need to find some metallic salts for stars and effects. I think it's possible just about anywhere with some diligent searching.
BPinthemorning Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 500lbs???? your my hero. Thats charcoal on an epic proportion.
Arthur Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Every firework forum I know of has little national groups who chat about their particular interests and problems. Customs, Postal, Counter terrorist all can be safely passed when you have friends. Keep reading, keep searching. In a few years of dilligent searching and careful posting you will find several people in your country, even your state.
