import_racer1 Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Just wondering if anybody has tried mixing the two together in any such way, bin trying to do some research on it, and not much is to be found. Although fp is extremely unstable compared to bp, i was wondering if something such as a spacer inbetween the two mixtures could be added before adding the two substances together, then as one explodes it ignites the other, let me know what sort of experience you guys have of this, thanks guys.

No offense, but you sound like you need much more experience before working with flash. What are you trying to accomplish? To be honest, you sound like you have no purpose, other than making a boom, because what you're asking makes almost no sense: 1) Firstly, do not make ground salutes of any type.2) If you want to make a aerial maroon/rocket header, use BP and lots of confinement.3) If you want to make an aerial salute/rocket header, use the flash composition of your choice. If you want, use an inert bulking agent, but why would you bulk with BP? It's wasted in that application.4) If you're trying to get greater performance out of your BP for lift, forget about flash. The vastly different burning characteristics between the two will guarantee frustration at best, and blown shells, shredded mortars, and injury/death at worst.5) If you are trying to make a shell break charge booster, methods have been discussed ad nauseum and you don't sound like you're there yet. 1

But I *AM going to tell you that the subject of Flash is a very touchy one. Just like Flash itself. It is obvious you have zero experience with it, or you'd know the answers to your questions already. ANY discussion of Flash is VERY narrowly restricted outside of the High Explosives Forum. Why? Partly because Flash is considered a High Explosive by the Feds, and for damned good reasons. And partly because, UNLIKE most HE's, it sometimes takes only a cross-eyed look at it to make it go BOOM. Make BP-fireworks first. Get a lot of experience doing that BEFORE you tackle things like flash, or even Whistle mix (another very powerful comp, though not as sensitive as Flash). qwez wins a cigar.
