I posted this here because it is kind of a newb question(s).

So for the question:

 

Can you make a green star with Cu and KNO3? I did see an article on skyligher but can't find it. I located it on google and it pretty much disappeared.

I don't want to order a whole bunch of chems.

 

(Don't comment her about my citation, there's no point to lose interest in and knowledge in a beautiful art).

Potassium nitrate 15

Sulfur 2

Airfloat charcoal 1

Copper powder 4

Red gum 1

Dextrin 1

 

It was in Skylighters archives. I spent less than 30 seconds finding it. Next time, look harder please.

 

As you can see, you'll need more than Cu and KNO3. No idea how well this formula will work.
