bmarley5780 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I want to get some screens but I think a deal might be had getting them from MC-Carr vs Skylighter. The problem I am having is that MM-Carr has 3 to 5 different 4 mesh10 mesh20 mesh etc.... here is the link: http://www.mcmaster.com/nav/enter.asp?pagenum=368 I am looking to get the basic screens that are essential to us. -Joe
hst45 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Wow, what a great site, thanks for the link! Personally, I's probably just get the particle sifting type 304 stainless, 12 X12 size, in 10 X 10, 20 X 20, and maybe 60 X 60. For my home-pyro purposes I'm not really concerned that I have a screen that meets industry standards, I just want something to separate coarse, fine and superfine particles.
oskarchem Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I know that this is way of topic; but since we are talking about screens, Why not get some free samples from Inoxia?
hst45 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I's not off-topic at all, and do-tell about the free screens. I'm not familiar with them, but anything that starts with "free" is worth researching no matter what comes after it.
frogy Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Hell, they need to give you a few free screens for every order you get... They want over 25 dollars for a lb. of Perchlorate...
asilentbob Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 The screen sizes you mention should be easily had OTC.
oskarchem Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 AH, ok fine well go on to this page: http://www.inoxia.co.uk/rw/category/9.aspx and then onto any of the screen you want, press the fall down menue and click: "sample" you will only have to pay for the shipping.
Mumbles Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Yes, but shipping to the US may make the samples not quite so price effective. Then again, I'd hope he'd ship them in an envelope, so shipping should be less than $10 or $15. I can vouch for the McMaster screens. They are excellent. I would generally get the cheapest screens possible. If there are several within the same price range, get the one with the thickest wires. They will be a bit more resilient.
persut Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 check out our screens http://www.pyrodirect.com/ccp0-catshow/304screen.html
