dagabu Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 In fact, I ran into that experience last summer when making falling leaves when I ran out of Parlon. I subbed Saran for the Parlon and they wouldn't bind, the Red Gum just ran out onto the paper and they crumbled when dry. I went back and bound them with NC and they worked fine.
Mumbles Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Red gum is better suited to perchlorate stars, and shellac is better for chlorate stars. Being as how these are primarily nitrate based, I don't know if one is better than the other or if there is any difference. I prefer red gum personally for cost and purity.
