oskarchem Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Hey! I was wondering somthing because my sister had her birthday today, my mom baught some of those sparklers http://www.usfireworks.biz/images/items/2017.jpgAnd I was thinking, what composition was used in them, because there was no smell whatsoever. Any one would know? Thanks. Oskar PS: Did a search but didn't find anything.
Pretty green flame Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 I think they are basicly NC (Or atleast NC based) + Titanium powder.
asilentbob Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I have heard similar for indoor effects like that designed to give off very little smoke. I can't remember anything stating such, but guanidine nitrate could be a possible oxidizer in such a composition. IIRC it isn't very hygroscopic and results in mostly all gaseous decomposition products under ideal conditions.
oskarchem Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 Yeah, your probably right, but it light instanteniously, so I think that on top there is NC.
