qwezxc12 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 The whole competition thing may be moot right now, but I had to post this here; this is perhaps the 2nd (pudi's keeping me honest) 6in shell I've made that I'm really pleased with. It's also my first successful color-changing 6in. Stars were about 5/8" Chrysthanthemum6 rolled over 3/8" yellow. Burst was 4:1 BP coated rice crispies boosted with 20g of slow flash. The rising effect was a 2in Mg comet. The shell weighed just under 1400g when finished and was lifted with 118g of Alder BP. Timing was crossmatched visco. The shell was taped with 3 overlapping layers of 60lb. fiberglass re-enforced gummed tape. Incidentally this shell was made with hemis from Pyrocasings...nice stuff. Mumbles Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Looks pretty good. It looks like the C6 could even be rolled a little bigger. The stars were still traveling out pretty fast when they changed over. 3/4" or 7/8" may be enough for a diadem type of shell.
pudidotdk Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Beautiful shell! this is the first 6in shell I've made that I'm really pleased with.Gasp! Are you saying this ain't pleasing? http://www.apcforum.net/files/6inSphericalD1glitter.wmv
