Hi all!

I'm posting a video and some pics of a six shot cake that me and my friend made. We were on some kind of picnic with other amateur pyrotechnics from Slovenia, and we all bring some homemada stuff and lounch it there together. Ok now here are the pre-fire pictures:

Nice breaks for 1in shells! Timing seemed good except for the first shell? I couldn't tell which were the C6 and the C8.

C6 was the first shell. The last three were all C8. The first shell contained bigger stars than the other five. I was satisfied with the result except the first one shuld be better. This was my first cake and I am planning bigger ones for the new year :D .

This cake trully is an inspiration. In the near future I am also planning one just like this one :)

Recently I have not been able to view quicktime videos from this site, says I need to download the xvid codec, however I have done that about three times in the last month with no effect. Anyone know what's going on?

Looks like you did a great job constructing you cake, remember that you should always have anything PVC behind a large barrier. Masking taped wrapped shells...I'm interested in seeing how they break. Another comment later if I get my quicktime player fixed.

Go to this site http://portableapps.com/apps and download Mplayer. This player has all the codecs integrated in player itself. Hope I helped.

Hmm, still got no video coming through, thanks anyway though.

Yes those were excellent.

I use VLC media player. It is much like Mplayer with all of the codecs in the application. What I have to do to watch the avi files is download and then play. I can't get them to load on the webpage because it tries to get QT to play.

Hey thanks deadman, that got it.

Excellent cake, very hard breaks! Sounded much louder than any other 1" shells I've seen.

Those shells look verry impressive for 1 inch shells.

i have just 2 questions for you.

1. what flash powder did you used at those shells?. (for break)

2. with what material did you made the pasting of those shells?

Sorry about my English , AgwA

I used nitrated based FP. 50/30/20 KNO3/Al/S. Al is somewhat dark. Perchlorate based FP would be much too powerful. For the pasting I used masking tape. It works great for me. But unfortunatly I had some trubles with police recently so my parents don't allow me to make fireworks anymore. I am depressed actually, but I still have some hope. Lets say that I just have a little break -_- .

Have a nice day

Damn i feel bad for you , but dont worry pyro its in your blood you cant stop with this hobby its just to hard, you actually addict to pyro ! :D.

I had problems with the police too and took a break but i back now.

i dont have a dark aluminum in my country so i am just using

KNO3\Mg\S 6\3\1 i hope its will make the job.

and...what kind of cases do you use? is that the plastic from kinder egg (chocolate snack) ?

(i also cant put my hands on commercial cases in my country)

Yes, you actually can become addicted from pyrotehnics. The worst thing is that I have to have a break right now, whet the new year is comming. We (I and my friend) were planning a big 25 shoot cake for new year... But fuck it. And yes tke kinder eggs (chocolate snack with present for little kids) were used for the case.

Have a nice day!

Great cake dude!

I really like the breaks of those shells. I've been experimenting on 1" shells too, but they never got so good.

The break is suprisingly loud (and powerful) for KNO3-flash, although I never tried the comp with dark alu. I'll do some experiments on that soon.

Perch flash is too strong indeed. (I've tried that with C6 stars. They shattered.)

What was the size of the stars by the way?

The stars were about 10mmX10mm big. My oppinion is that the KNO3 FP is very good and strong enought for breaks. I put it in every shell as the main break charge (smaller shells) or as break reinforcer.

Have a nice day.
