kimi Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 i know this may sound silly, but i was wondering. If a packing material has excellent chemical resistance to a specific chemical (according to chem resistance charts) does that mean that if the chemical is packed in that material there will be absolutely no leak in any form(smell) - perfect packaging, no loss due to molecules breaching the package?? thanks
Mumbles Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 No. It means if the package were to break and the chemical spill out into the packaging material, it would not react, dissolve, etc with the chemical itself. Generally it will be able to soak up the spill so that it does not make it to the outside of the box(if it's liquid) as well.
