d4j0n Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 http://pyroforum.nl/index.php?showtopic=257 I found this and was wondering if anyone has tried it before and can offer some tips. I have two of them drying but it seems I can't tie the segments tight enough to make separate cells for the bp to burst in. Also the paper absorbs all the moisture from the wet bp
frogy Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I have made these before... and some other people from PyroGuide... The meal needs to be wet, but not too wet... if kraft paper is absorbing water to where it actually gets soggy, you added to much... They are pretty fun crackers... I tried one using KP once that was scary lol
Mumbles Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 They're sometimes called grasshoppers or english crackers. There is some info in Lancaster. I agree with frogy, they shoul at very most be damp. Too wet will mess it up and probably cause it to never dry. Try drying for a day or so, and then making it.
d4j0n Posted August 26, 2007 Author Posted August 26, 2007 The poster of this particular link says he uses a brush to apply the bp. Wouldn't the bp be quite wet for this to work? My bp was on the slurry side and I applied with a popsicle stick, resulting in a lumpy uneven mess. Also, how much bp should be used? I'm about to just dust some fine granulated bp in a line and slurry the ends.
