NWMoMike Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Okay, I've been looking, reading, and searching and haven't found much on mesh size and how or what to use to sort compounds by mesh size in the first place. Most of the topics center around using a particular mesh size component to use. But not much on what is used in the first place to seperate materials into different mesh sizes. Anyone have a good link, site, etc on this? Mike
deadman Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Mesh is the amount of holes/squares in one linear inch of screen. Mesh really isn't that great of a unit of measurement as the thickness of wire and pattern of entwinement can make two "meshes" the same number, but different particle sizes. It really doesn't matter that much, but for some reason I felt like bringing it up. Anyways. That is what it is. BTW: Window screen is usually 12 or 16 mesh. McMaster Carr has good screens.
