artificier Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 the only way to know more about visco rocket:http://www.skylighter.com/skylighter_info_...co_Fuse_Rockets
aquaman Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 That looks interesting. So how high does it go? --MY cheap fuse rocket is simple: 1) Cut 2 inches of 1/8 inch fuse.2) Place on the ground.3) Light it. It flies and goes everywhere. It's kind of cool.
artificier Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 more than 100 feet.I love to put in the rocket crakling fuse with visco fuse and sometime i add small payload like firecracker.its a fun stuff for begginer.
evilgecko Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 You should place that in the tutorial section Artificer that is very nicely laid out and with eye-catching colourful pictures for the simple minded . If only I had some visco
Mumbles Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I was going to move it there, but it's not his work. It is a direct copy and paste from skylighter. While he gives credit at the top, I see no reason why it was neccesary to copy and paste the whole thing. A simple link followed by discussion would have been fine.
artificier Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 I make a nice pic about the visco rocket, all info about this i one pic !! (modified version)http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8279/viscorocket8rv.png I use "PAINT" program to make this picture.
teknix Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Or to give your rocket a nice meal? Hehehe He was pointing out you said "lunch" instead of "launch"
TheSidewinder Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 LOL, I don't think English is his first language, so cut a *little* slack for the guy, eh? But yeah, artificier, Lunch is what we eat at 12 noon or so. M
artificier Posted February 27, 2006 Author Posted February 27, 2006 ah ah nice joke but I dont know to put my lunch in a tube? Really rocket launcher its okay ? but one of you try visco rocket ?
Pyrohawk Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 If your asking if any of us have made these Fuse Rockets.....then yes. I have made quite a few of these little rockets! I even have a little tutorial wrote up on my site... Fuse Rockets
artificier Posted February 28, 2006 Author Posted February 28, 2006 oh oh nice rocket you have video or more about fuse rocket ?
Flashzone Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Here are some video's of my Fuse Rockets I set off last weekend: ( I had a hard time lighting it, I was using my sisters crappy lighter )http://www.apcforum.net/files/Fuserocket_engine.MPG ( This was the first one that went, it got nice speed and then hit the gutter of my house )http://www.apcforum.net/files/Fuserocket1.MPG ( This is the second one I did, it would not take off for one sec. then it took off and popped and hit the ground ) http://www.apcforum.net/files/Fuserocket3.MPG I used the same design of the rockets from skylighter, but I think mine are a bit smaller. Anyway this weekend i'm going to make more with some colored fuse and maybe some crackling fuse, I will make the rockets 3in tall.
Defiant Pyro Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I'm making one as we speak, I have a couple hundred feet of the 1/8th visco from cannonfuse I don't really ever use.
Caleb51 Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Wait, I kinda got lost, at first I thought I was missing something, but then I realized that this rocket doesn't even have powder (Propellant) so the fuse actually acts as a lift charge?!?!
Mumbles Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Yes. Well, the fuse is the propellant, rockets don't have lift charges.
Caleb51 Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Well, yeah, they don't have a lift charge like a star would have, but basically any rocket has a composition in it that makes it lift by the pressure through the nozzle, so that is what I meant by lift charge.
_Kill_Switch_ Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Where the hell can i get fuse around here...What kinda store would they be in?
aquaman Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Where do you live? In some countries it's harder to get fuse. I would look on the internet suppliers, many of them sell fuses.
FrankRizzo Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Your avatar says "uber pyro", and you can't get fuse?!?
d4j0n Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Skylighter suggested flying fish, but my flying fish rockets always tend to cato... only success with 1/16" visco...
KAP Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I made a Techno, CD Visco Rocket wheel. I used four of these drivers on a CD (with my daughters help).I added some fine titanium before wrapping them up , it added a nice spark display. I linked the drivers with the small chinese visco and the timing worked out well. Instead of using paper for the casing I used 4 wraps of HVAC aluminum tape.
KinneticEnergy Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I use the 1/4 ID X 2" long tubes from Pyrocreations. I cut 3 3" strips of fuse and 1 4" strip of fuse, and straighten them. Then I take the tube and ram some kitty litter into the tube for an end bung. I insert the fuses(note they are all 1/8" cannon fuse), they barely fit in. Then i take some kitty litter and just press it in by hand, avoiding the long fuse. then strap it to a stick and presto, a fuse rocket.
derekroolz Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I make a nice pic about the visco rocket, all info about this i one pic !! (modified version)http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/8279/viscorocket8rv.png I use "PAINT" program to make this picture. so its the same as a black powder rocket
