Tryduck Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Thanks for allowing me to join and post first off. I am new to the hobby I admit so is there possible PA ATF hobbyists that have applied/obtained licenses.I am not rushing out to get chemicals/powders just yet until I have acquired proper license to begin with and proper storage.I dont intend to store mixed fireworks as of yet and would be only mixing what I am going to dispose of in same day. I have been wanting to apply to ATF so I can dabble pyrotechnics and L/M/H Rocket engines. I been looking over the ATF site about applying for licenses/permits. My question is should I be applying for a manufactures FEL license for Low explosives/Fireworks if I want to begin as a hobby now and maybe later idea going to a business. What do most who do this as hobbies do , do they only get the ATF user permit which allows them to buy chemicals/powders, manufacture and transport for personal only then apply for ATF license later if they decide to begin business operations? This would be in Central PA where there doesn't seem to be a large amount of this becoming a legal hobby or club. I have searched but next to nothing comes up in this site search on ATF licenses process for PA. Again thanks for any information from pyros that have obtained user permits/licenses. I understand folks do this without proper licenses/user permits but I wish to obtain license/permit before hand so thats why I am seeking responses from licensed/permitted individuals.
Mumbles Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Getting in contact with some people locally is probably your best bet to get accurate information. Below are two clubs that operate in your area that might be helpful. https://www.pyroartistsinc.com/about https://www.crackerjacks.org/
