juliocr Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Appreciation to any help. I thought I was just registering for the ScienceMadness forum with more general chemistry topics, and ended up here. APC Are ScienceMadness and APC the same thing? I'm not seeing the categories I have seen on SM previously. I'm embarrassed if I am unduly taking up others attention. I have spent hours on attempts to register. Well meaning retired engineer just trying to get some support for some processes. Where to from here? A link referral? Again, thanks
Zumber Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Sciencemadness.org is for science/experiment/chemistry amateures. APC forum is mostly dedicated for pyrotechnics/fireworks lovers.
mx5kevin Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago ScienceMadness is completely independent of the APC forum. There is no open registration there, one of the administrators can authorize an account if you write them an email. If there is a known registered member there who recommends you, or some reference to who you are, then you have a better chance of getting in. They write about exactly how it works there, and why it is needed there. As far as I know, this was necessary because automatic bots registered on the forum and filled it with garbage. However, since this change has occurred, it is also possible that no matter how many times you write to them, you will not be accepted. Someone previously wrote here on the APC forum that they had written several emails to them but couldn't get in the forum, but we can't help with that. Professionally, I think they are prepared and the community is fine. You can also consult them about more complicated chemical matters or ideas, and they can also help you. Those who have achieved results in amateur chemistry (and deeper pyro chemistry) are mostly there. It's such a large forum that they can also hire new members based on internal recommendations or references without open registration. The members and visitors are many times higher than the APC forum. https://www.sciencemadness.org/whisper/ The main page describes who to email about this, and how, whit what.
