Best binder for black match

Recommended Posts

Hello dear members
Which kind of pyrotechnic binder is better for making black match?
Please share your  operational experiences of binders(Cmc,arabic gum, dextrin) in black match.
Flexibility , performance , burn rate , water resistance and other important factors in BM.
Thank you

Dextrin makes a good binder. Just don’t add too much or it will make it really slow but what do I know?

For BM my first choice is gum arabic it really makes black match very stiff and flexible and Its disadvantage is it absorbs moisture if humidity is high you have to dry it very well and cover it in  plastic paper & keep it in moisture proof container in dry place.

Second choice is to use combination of 2 percent CMC and 1 percent dextrin as a binder I can't speak much because I haven't used this.

Third choice is to use just dextrin and I am not a fan of dextrin I have tried it 2 to 4 percent several times & and It is not good for me as It just can't make black match that much stiff and flexible and powder often fall away.

thank you friends.
so arabic gum makes BM flexible and dextrin brittle.
If we want to have full bending and flexibling ability , what binder will be suitable?
even waterproof , do we have polymer binder that be easily available, usable in pyrotechnic and have these good factors?

So what about discussion which already had about the same topic above?

Why the same question again?

Yes, the question was answered, and correctly so. No need to repeat it.

Given that, the topic will be closed.
