ThrownBiscuit Posted October 14 Posted October 14 From appearances it looks similar to when I attempted to make a white gerb with magnalium and potassium perchlorate. (It worked but was so bright it overpowered the other effects in the cake.) I used 200 mesh magnalium at 45% of total mass 50% potassium perchlorate and 5% dextrin as a binder. (I wanted it fuel dense to prevent it conflagrating much quicker than I desired) I moistened it with 60% ethanol 40% water mixture and carefully pressed the mixture to 4000 psi. (Granted I did this in very sturdy thick wall paper tubes that were not consumed in the use of the gerbs) I used bentonite clay as the nozzle and endcap. I'm pretty sure you could take my gerb attempt and modify it into something more closely resembling the video for example if you made a good quality tube support you could probably get by with thinner tubing that could be consumed in the above video. Then glue a stick on the end of it to be the holder. Note of caution, the magnalium and potassium perchlorate mix makes an extraordinarily hot gerb. It melted the bentonite nozzle in very short order and left it as glowing lava. Also, if you set it off at night you will blind yourself rather effectively for a temporary period as the brightness is rather absurd. Kinda reminds me of arc welding in brightness.
