Brakkie Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Holy crap This morning my dad wakes me up in the most annoying way you can think of. Turns on all the lights, opens the curtains and tells me to wake up. I know my dad he does that more than once and I was ready to throw a nasty comment in his face since it's my day off today. But he tells me to wake up and come downstairs. So I get up and go down and I see the family sitting on the couch with sorrow faces. Turns out my dad got cancer... Seems like everyone around me is getting sick! A close friend to the family got cancer and doesn't have more than a week left. My grandma had a heartattack a few weeks ago but is somehow still alive and now it's my dad! Christ shit, this is not the right way to wake up on a day off. Hope to get good news from the hospital next week!
Richtee Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 Christ shit, this is not the right way to wake up on a day off. Hope to get good news from the hospital next week! Prayers and well wishs, man...
andyboy Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 That sucks, I hope it's not to serious and that he gets cured.
Swede Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 He'll fight the good fight, and probably win it. Best wishes...
Bonny Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 **&*^&*&*&^ Damnit. I ordered three pounds of potassium metabisulfite from Midwest brew supply. Box arrives. What do I see? Three pounds of frigging potassium sorbate. WTF am I going to do with 3 lb of sorbate? Why can't people do their job and pack their orders properly? GRRRRRRRRRRR! You could make 1600 gallons of wine. Or if you have a taste for pillaging, you could make an equal amount of Mead. You can send me some nice shiraz and/or merlot when you make all that wine...don't want you to waste all that sorbate.
Pretty green flame Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 Well, we had a shooting not far from where I live, 1 bad guy dead, 3 cops injured, and what pisses me off is the fact that even though the guy who started shooting and injured 3 cops, the general public is still able to produce retarded comments such as "Think of the children, there's a school near, guns don't belong in an enviorment such as this, doesn't even matter if the gun are used by cops". I mean, how fucking more stupid can you get? The guy started shooting at them, what were they supposed to do, throw flowers at him? God damn I hate people like this.

crazyboy25 Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Someone cut my hops! About 2 feet above ground there are neat little slices in the vines and the leaves are dying FUCK!!!. I'm almost positive who it was too, my neighbor who is obsessed with his garden. His hedge was coming over to our side of the house so I trimmed it he said I butchered it and the next day my hops are sliced. What a jackass! 1
andyboy Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I'm almost positive who it was too, my neighbor who is obsessed with his garden. Salting his grass would probably not be a good thing to do then. 1
Seymour Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Revenge is bad, hmmmkay. But that salt would naturally be of the ClO3 type!
RUUUUUN Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 (edited) Both types of peoples mentioned above (liberals and stupid people who will almost outright assault you for merely touching their things), should not grace this fine earth!! I've got a solution to people bringing hand guns near school property and opening up on law enforcement... put up a SIGN as a warning for committing said actions, and have a drastic course of action to be taken in the event of a breach in law. We shall give him 20 hours of community service! (Yay liberals!!! ban handguns near school property; "banning things obviously works, you couldn't find a drink anywhere in the roaring twenties. I have an idea, let's just ban... crime!!!") As to what to do to the neighbor....set the round-up sprayer to stream not mist, and then write something.....in the dark obviously, and make it something completely random, if you have any gangs near put their gang symbol in his yard... something that won't be associated with you anyway... because he will probably attempt to file charges for assault with intent to rape on behalf of his precious grass... The salt thing would probably be cheaper, but if I were you I would just go over an apologize for touching the hedge and then give him a box of homemade cookies or something, attempt to make him feel really, really, rotten about ruining your plants... mental torture is much more traumatic than physical torture. Also, in the off chance is wasn't he who actually cut your plants, then you will have at least showed him that you aren't a total jerk.... @ Seymour.. Why is revenge a bad thing???? I can only see revenge as being a bad thing if your enemy has the ability to strike back.. The solution is simply: hit harder.... *EDIT* You must have had to do some diggin' to find this thread, it must have been nearly to page 3 already! Edited August 8, 2009 by RUUUUUN
crazyboy25 Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 I don't plan on retaliation. For starters I don't know for sure it was him and even if I didn't I really don't want to get in a war with that guy...
Seymour Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Revenge usually has poor consequenses because the emotional attachment results in unreasonable action.
TheSidewinder Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 And always remember: Revenge is a dish best served cold.
andyboy Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 And always remember: Revenge is a dish best served cold. Revenge is a dish that should be marinated in bitterness over a long period of time and then roasted with a flamethrower of injustice before serving cold. :D Meh, no need for revenge even though the thought of revenge is actually a good thing if you don't let it go for to long and actually carry it out. Thinking about revenge will let you "live" the moment when you give back for something and that is (most of the time) enough for you to let go of the injustice done. Think - don't do.
flying fish Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Arggg... Finally the fire hazard has gone down to...zero, and I don't have anything to set off! Furthermore, stars I've been waiting a month to dry prolly now have greater water content now than they did to start with. Earlier in the season I had NO PROBLEM with this sort of thing. I guess having rediculous humidity is a double-egded sword. My whistle fuel is also now dripping wet. And the fog is so heavy outside at first I thought it was smoke! And had I any completed shells, who knows if this much humidity would have affected them... Edit: 90% humidity... LOL. I think that is higher than average rain forest humidity. flying fish Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 I live in Michigan. It rained heavily earlier today...so this is not normal for it to be 90% humidity...but it has nonetheless been especially humid the last few weeks.
RUUUUUN Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Kind of a "don't make negative-X" type day is it?? quite odd for michigan... I prefer my revenge exceptionally rare; brown on the outside, still cold on the inside... Edited August 10, 2009 by RUUUUUN
NightHawkInLight Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 Kind of a "don't make ngative-X" type day is it?? quite odd for michigan... I prefer my revenge exceptionally rare; brown on the outside, still cold on the inside...No not that sort of day at all. Ever in Michigan really. Speaking of which...I just made a massive batch of charcoal yesterday and left it in a wheelbarrow outside...So much for using that this weekend What a pain. On the bright side, my new workshop is done and holding water. Soon as the charcoal drys I'll be good to go.
NightHawkInLight Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 AGAIN it rained today and I wasn't able to get my charcoal in in time! This is getting old...
TheEskimo Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 Hmmm...I think we just got the front of what you Michiganites have been getting. Warm, humid, foggy, and about 2 inches of rain from last night to this afternoon. Good ol' soggy Pennsylvania.
flying fish Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 AGAIN it rained today and I wasn't able to get my charcoal in in time! This is getting old... Lol. Sorry to hear - Better luck next time. Luckily I got my charcoal in before the rain! I haven't had time to make charcoal, but I found some laying on the ground next to our burning barrel. I figure the rain and such must have washed away most of the ash as it's been laying on the ground for a year now. I rinsed it off and dried it in the sun. Surely it won't make performance BP, but perhaps suitable while I haven't had time to make any...and I'm still waiting for the Alder. I'm starting not to mind the humidity and rain so much...Things dry fine if you leave them in direct sunlight, and the lack of fire hazard during testing is a huge bonus. And above all, it makes me feel like I'm living in some exotic tropical wonderland . I lit a starmine in the rain...my dad yelled at me for being outside in the lightning storm. C'mon, what's the worst that could happen? Oh yeah...

Oh yeah...Ha, I was out stranded on my boat during the storm, thinking of nothing but my poor charcoal...and that I myself might become charcoal at any moment I wouldn't mind the rain and humidity either if I didn't work several intensely physical jobs outdoors.
50AE Posted August 10, 2009 Posted August 10, 2009 (edited) I'm damn tired... been constructing pyro tooling all the week-end, my ball mill, a fountain tooling and a working bench. I started my ball mill and it's very noisy, my family won't let me mill if I don't silence it somehow. Now our cargo shipment from Paris has arrived today, my muscles ache from transporting cardboard boxes full with our home stuff. And the most annoying part seems the opening of the boxes and taking all the stuff back. I don't think our smaller flat will succeed to keep all these things. So I just found some time to let my back relax a little and write this. I have so much work left to do. Edit : Hey, by the way, can you suggest me an anti caking agent for KNO3 ? I started to mill a batch of it and it cakes on the walls. Edited August 10, 2009 by 50AE
