mormanman Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 A miracle LOL Besides that, where are you from b/c if you send me money i'll order and ship it to you. PM me if you interested.
WarezWally Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Hmm what pisses me off 1. Neighbors who call the fucking cops because i have a small fire in my backyard.2. Said neighbors have a massive internal fire in their house which fills the street with smoke.3. The shitty government around here, trying to restrict the internet with filtering4. Fucking k3wls5. Idiots who ask me to make a bomb for them, half tempted to sell them a pipe filled with flour with a fuse sticking out of the end for $506. Idiots who think making some sort of bomb involves mixing fertilizer with oil or mixing pool chlorine with sugar. I wish these people would do us all a favor and kill themselves. 7. Religion, fuck your god and your views. Your destroying our evooution by sticking your nose into what science is doing.8. Do gooder public bitches (politicians) who pretend that they 'care' in order to get your pathetic vote.9. Lack of other people who share my hobby (greeting to rocket) and thus the lack of supplies. I envy you Americans, not to much stuff to buy in Australia Im sure ill think of more
mormanman Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 5. Idiots who ask me to make a bomb for them, half tempted to sell them a pipe filled with flour with a fuse sticking out of the end for $50LOL . I'm thinking about it b/c some people want me to too. I don't mind ground salutes as much (small ones) but bombs and btw fertilizer and petro equals OMC b@*&.
WarezWally Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Im well aware but making ANFO is pointless unless you have a HE primary
Mumbles Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Just thought I'd point out that discussion of high explosives, their use or production is quite against the rules outside of the HE section.
flying fish Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I've never had anyone ask me to make a bomb for them...thank god. There were a few fellow students back in the dorms that really wanted me to make some rocket motors for them to strap to a skateboard, however. I told them the truth: I don't have enough experience with rocket motors to build one for you! Ok...I must admit that could have been fun, but I can't take the chance that someone will get hurt....or someone tries to sue me, etc etc. Crap...I really have to get back to homework. My Modern Phys lab partners want me to do this lab report for them, since there were a couple labs they did without me earlier. Well, maybe the look on their face when I say I still don't have it done yet will be satisfying in itself . I'm not usually like that, but school just keeps getting me more and more frustrated! And yesterday, I got up to go to 8:00 AM class , and my waves prof wasn't there! Sign says he's sick. And it was supposed to be our last class! No emails or anything, which is not typical. He must be in IC or something to leave us hanging like this! He was supposed to give us our take-home final too. Hehe, maybe he'll decide not to have to final, but maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up.
mormanman Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Just thought I'd point out that discussion of high explosives, their use or production is quite against the rules outside of the HE section. Sorry about that. Just saying where it was used.
flying fish Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Had two finals today; Circuits and Modern Physics. Got to love 5 hours of testing starting at 7:30 in the morning! I was trying to think of some jokes for modern physics. How does this sound: "Help, help! Little Timmy is stuck in a quantum well!" May sound like I have a lot of time on my hands, but I actually still have to write that 7 page fireworks history paper for tomorrow in addition to two take-home tests!!! I guess it is in my nature to slack off while under the pressure of deadlines... Wow, I'm practically talking to myself! That can't be healthy "NO, put the strait jacket down or somebody gets hurt"
asilentbob Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 I'm a bit ticked off... 3 pair of nice long knit Kevlar gloves were bought up on eBay before i could get a pair for myself at a very reasonable price. Also trying to get a nice used set of sieves and it looks like this other person is willing to spend more money than me. Chances are they only want a couple of the ones in the set... making the price i have to pay go way up... jack ass. Also looking like ill have to check out the local mil surplus store for Nomex pants or overalls so i can find some that actually fit me and aren't too dark... its hot enough in Texas as is... I have this and next weekend to make pyro for a shoot in october... but i gotta catch up on alot of school crap... and i might actually have to work tomorrow and the next day before im officially quitted from my job... so yeah... somehow i still have like no time to do shit... Edit: And yeah... i do have to work... friday, saturday, AND sunday... AND my transmission is on the verge of being dead... and im going to be having to drive a crap load every single one of those days... fucking assholes.

LGM Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 What pisses me off is that my dad just told me I can't set mortars or rockets off at my house anymore because he is worried of embers falling into pine trees. A week ago I wouldn't have been too peeved, but just yesterday I managed to launch a few good shells and now I want to keep going. I have to wait till the corn gets picked, then I can go out into the fields away from trees and set off whatever I want. That and I'm out of KNO3 and I only have about 50 grams of BP left. Need to contact Jacob…
mormanman Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I hate them god damn kewls and boomers. Making me only buy 1 lbs a year of KCLO4 and KCLO3.
WarezWally Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Yes the evil k3wl, im sure most of us have been there at one stage in our lives I like boomers, but only when they are strapped to the end of a rocket. At least you can buy kclo3/4
Mumbles Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 By the way, that should be 1 lb a year of KClO4 OR KClO3. It's one pound of oxidiser, not each oxidiser. However, believe it or not, Firefox is not the only supplier on the planet. When you show you actually have some sort of idea what you're doing and make some contact, chemical aquisition becomes almost trivial sometimes.
mormanman Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Well maybe some suppliers mumbles (not to be rude of course)?
DeAdFX Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Well maybe some suppliers mumbles (not to be rude of course)? GO to the supplier review section and check out each seller.... Sheesh.. There are atleast a couple American suppliers that still carry KClO4. Every once in awhile someone on passfire market place will be selling KClO4 /KClO3 too...
Tweetybird88 Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 Well maybe some suppliers mumbles (not to be rude of course)?GO to the supplier review section and check out each seller.... Sheesh.. There are atleast a couple American suppliers that still carry KClO4. Every once in awhile someone on passfire market place will be selling KClO4 /KClO3 too... Chlorate is not too hard to get a hold of and is now at a pretty normal price on Ebay. Perchlorate on the other hand, I only know of skylighter. Any others that I know only sell to buisnesses or lisence holders.
mormanman Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 God damn. I hate the shit from harbor freight (sometimes). I bought the dual drum tumbler for $30 and in the first 2 weeks I have it the belt breaks which is ok b/c I have rubber bands. Two months go by and the motor pulley breaks. I get upset and use knex to fix it. The the hole thing starts falling apart even more. I mean I did try to do somethings to it involving taking it apart but I still keeps falling apart. Today I spent around 7 or 8 dollars on a 1 1/2" diameter pulley, belt, tube to center the pulley and a bolt. At first the mill could mill around maybe 12 lbs, then after stuff broke 6 lbs, now with all the new stuff I just put on it only 2 1/2 lbs.
hst45 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 mormanman, I feel your pain. I, too, am often a victim of my own cheapness. i HATE to spend a dollar when a nickel will do, and I often buy a cheap piece of crap which invariably shits the bed when I need it most. There is an old adage in my business: "There's nothing more expensive than cheap tools." Harbor Freight is what it is; a source of cheap stuff for cheap money. Another old adage: "If a deal seems to good to be true, it probably is."
mormanman Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Thanks, but do you know where I could get a new ball mill.
hst45 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 do you know where I could get a new ball mill. What's your budget and what's your skill set? If you already have a drum, which you do, you could get an electric motor at an electrical surplus store for a few bucks, buy four casters from a hardware store and screw these to a wooden frame for less than $20. Or, you could weld up a frame, set up a pair of roller rods in a set of pillow block bearings, attatch a variable speed motor on a potentiometer and spend probably $100, or spend about $200 on a ready made mill. Building it yourself is actually part of the fun, but the learning curve can be pretty steep if you don't have a background in carpentry/electronics/fabrication, in which case shelling out the cash is painful, but probably best.
mormanman Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I'm in metal shop and last year I took wood shop so I don't think the frame will be all that hard I just needa disign.
oskarchem Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Well you could always get it from UN... But theire a bit expensive
mormanman Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I think it's the same thing that I have unless your talk about the big blue (I think 15 lbs) one.
DeAdFX Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 God damn it I am pissed... I made two whistle rockets 3 weeks ago and left em out to evaporate the xylene... Fast forward today and they picked up a lot of water (+8 grams of water propellant weight is about 25-30 grams) Son of a god damn bitch I wasted more KClO4/Na Sally. fuck pyrotechnics
