FFS! Amazon hasnt refunded my book orders fast enough meaning that i've just had to fookin cancel my order for the revised version of Dr Takeo Shimizu's "Fireworks: The Art Science &technique" -as the bank decded to tell me i'm overdrawn!

Ugh, the beast has risen... I have just realized how important dextrin is to lift charge. I have started to (try and) make rocket engines. But I haven't been using dextrin, and I got frustrated and burnt my 100g of BP on it's own . Why?, I don't know, it burnt fast, and it would have done well if I had done it right. Now it means using some of my diminishing KNO3 supply and spending 2 hours making charcoal by hand. I also have about 10g of sulfur left. It's an embarrassment. Looks like a trip to the garden store tommorrow .

About an hour ago I was working with 30% H2O2(precipitating iodine from the tincture, which worked pretty well) and after I was done with it I set the gallon jug of it on the counter...where it preceded to slip off and hit the floor , popping the cap off and sloshing me with 30% peroxide. I immediately ran too the shower and got washed off, but was left with white tingling legs. On the bright side not too much peroxide was wasted on the floor because I picked the container up before too much poored out.

Right.... this has pushed me over the edge now. It's my birthday in a couple of days and i was ment to have a party and now im not, but i still had some fireworks that i had bought so i was happy.

So i have these chinese or whatever bloody smoke bombs saying on the packet " coloured smoke...No bang". Now these are ment to be massive ones about 12" in lengh. So i get one out with my mum watching and go to the end of my garden thinking- " this should be quite amusing probs wipe out my garden in smoke" i also contenplate where i should stand, first i thought of standing next to it.

So i stand it up light the fuse and retire 5m away, lots of smoke starts coming out for about 5 seconds- very amusing, then........ kaboom the smoke bomb blows up showering my garden in burning pieces of smoke compostion.

I thank god that i decided not to stand next to this suppodly " harmless" commerical smoke bomb.

The worst thing aswell is that it cost me 8 quid from my birthday money.

I've had that happen before to smoke bombs I've made and then stored a while. If I kept them longer than a few weeks, they just explode and shoot the smoke comp out of the tube and burns that way. Now I only make them just before I shoot them off.

 

I have no idea why a commercial one would do that. You'd think they would have the process down, unlike me

And also the plaace where i would of set fireworks off in has horses in now
