dgsh009 Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hello my friends I make some C6 stars , but after drying , They break easily by hand and not solid and strong. I use water/alchol for solvent and 5% dextrin. What is the reason?
Zumber Posted January 31 Posted January 31 First is stars may not have fully dried out, secondly it may have "driven -In" ( stars have dried out outer side completely but not in the center) Have you made a burn test on ground? This clearly gives out an idea if it is dried or not.

How can made it slower and more spark spreading?

Try to use hardwood charcoal for stars like pine, softwood charcoal isn't suitable for this effect. How much percent alcohol you have used?

I made this formula comp : i use russian SPF wood charcoal for the comp(Charcoal – 23) but my bp(meal d) was commercial charcoal.(lemon wood) I use 50-60% (i guess) ethanol in warm water. Chrysanthemum 6 Meal D – 77 Charcoal – 23 Dextrin – 5
Zumber Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Chrysanthemum 6 Potassium Nitrate -55 Pine charcoal-33 Sulphur-07 SGRS-05 You have to use little alcohol, 75/25,70/30,80/20 water/alcohol would be a good starting point.
