pyrodivision Posted June 15 Posted June 15 VID-20210517-WA0007.mp4 Have you guys here ever done a catalyst comparison between bismuth trioxide or copper oxide for the best strobe formula? I've used copper oxide, and want to try using bismuth oxide, you can see my video, I want to slow down the effect, do you have any ideas, I use magnalium 200-250 mesh, and there is no other choice for magnalium mesh, and can milling all the oxidizer together into fine powder affect the stability of the strobe effect?
Zumber Posted June 15 Posted June 15 There is a post here in this forum fir white strobe star using bismuth. You search it you can find out. What is your formula? Mesh size matters a lot ,I usually dont use finer than 200 mesh and I prefer half part with 100 mesh and half part with 200 mesh. Plus ratio matters a lot too.......50:50 magnesium :aluminium works very well and if this ratio changes it affects strobe performance.
pyrodivision Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 My formula 56/28/6/6/4 (bano3/mgal (200mesh) /kno3/cuo/dextrin) i want to modify speed effect to be slower, but i dont have other size mgal, maybe i want to try change CuO with bismuth trioxide,
Zumber Posted June 16 Posted June 16 (edited) Increase dextrin upto 10 or 15 parts You may also try to use sulphur it is necessary for production of sulphate in reaction. You may also try out following BaNo3 60 Magnelium 200 mesh -30 Kno3 -5 Bismuth trioxide-2 Dextrin 3. Edited June 16 by Zumber
