woshinibaba Posted June 14 Posted June 14 There are videos of manganese dioxide rockets online, but they don't talk about the production process or how much pressure is used to make them?6000psi? 7000psi?
Crazy Swede Posted June 17 Posted June 17 It took a while to find the original source (PGI Bulletin 1992) and some tips from an experienced rocketeer, but it seems like the original comp was hand rammed like black powder in small increments. This is not recommended, especially not if using magnalium instead of aluminium that the original formula calls for. The propellant has been successfully pressed with about 9000 psi but less probably works.
