All10Fingers Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 ... Let's imagine a hypothetical situation where one of somebody's... Connections, brought him a couple Pringles cans. One has "amon chlor" and one "calc chlor" written in marker on them. Then you hypothetically ask this guy if these are chloride or chlorates. To which this person isnt certain stating he was "trying to be quick" whilst obtaining these chems. If one was faced with such a situation, is there a simple way to test and determine which it might be without risk of injury or property damage?
Crazy Swede Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Well, it cannot be ammonium chlorate so I would bet that both are chlorides: ammonium chloride and calcium chloride.
Arthur Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Ammonium Chlorate is unstable, If it forms, it will explode with little or no stimulus. That you have to ask means that your "friends" have too little regard for chemicals. There are NO excuses for poor naming of contents on packaging.
