Zumber Posted May 3 Posted May 3 After spending 14 years here In this forum I have learned a lot, all members are really helpfull and most are experienced. As the days passes this year I really think that there is need of short updates in forum, many of members, newbies are creating spam posts/uses meaningless posts/use of irrelavent terms for topics and Shortforms that is not allowed as per rules. Is it possible for admin to approve topic or approve Title so that It is not directly posted without approving and following forum rules. As we know running of forum needs manpowder/funding/time for staff to come online and do work from their own schedule ,if it is not possible to update then atleast give warning points/penalty/or bann for those member who speaks rude /dont follow rules/ trying to make APC reputation down. Please consider this request. 1

mx5kevin Posted May 4 Posted May 4 This can be filtered in such a way that in order to be included, anyone who registers here should be asked to show their work. Video, blog, or his external internet resources. Or those who are not willing to do so can pay for it. The point is to prove that he are actively doing this hobby. If someone publishes such material, after this they can automatically use the forum. Don't need to ask for anything big, just to show that he can do even a black powder, flash or any other simple composition. The problem with this is that the whole forum could easily collapse just from this. There was an attempt to do this (not here, in Hungary), the result was that the forum quickly died out. The problem here is with those who have never done anything in practice, but they using the community. The software has such an option after the first registration allow upload a video, file, create a gallery create a blog, linking his another work in other platform. And if this is done, the user after this can automatically use the rest of the forum without any non automatic interaction. However, this would come at such a price that three quarters of the current users would easily disappear. And people don't using forums where someone rarely writes something. There was another experiment without registration as Guest separately, anyone could open a topic and comment on it in a separated whole forum. The whole thing required a randomly chosen nickname and solving a reCAPTCHA. At least three times more people used it than the pyro forum that required registration. However, those who registered the firs forum could use the second forum without any problems. The two types of forums worked together well with professional content, blogging and video sharing services. 1
Richtee Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Or, you COULD just place an account on “Ignore”. Sure, it’s like the ostrich burying it’s head in the sand, and does not really save the wasted electrons- but you’ll feel better
