All10Fingers Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 Thank you Z. Here are some pictures of the building process
Zumber Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Thank you for posting pictures. It seem your casing is too thick and strong I can see it is spiral tube ,isnt it? You have to improve spiking methods, spiking is usually used for rolled kraft paper tube casings which can easily moves inside and outside if we press with hands unlike spiral tube or kraft paper paper mortor tube which is too strong. What busrt did you used for such strong casing?
All10Fingers Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 Yes, I know the spiking was crap. But at least the break was a nice even ring. And if the case was any smaller it wouldn't if fit the launch tube as well... I put a lot of effort into making my shells fit the mortar just right cause my dog likes to fetch so a underpowered lift is especially dangerous The burst was plain bp coated puffed rice. Plus fine corned bp around the stars. My thinking was that plain bp benefits from a very strong casing as it bursts harder and also exposes the stars to more fire to allow for better ignition.
