perfect Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Is there any substitute for Potassium dichromate when making strobe?
Crazy Swede Posted February 18 Posted February 18 It depends why it is in the formula. if it is there to protect magnesium from corrosion in a formula based on ammonium perchlorate, it is very hard to do without ammonium or potassium dichromate. If it is added for catalytic purposes, it might be possible to find substitutes. For example vanadium pentoxide sometimes work in the same way but it is also toxic! 1
Zumber Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) There are very less chances it is added as a catalyst. As you said It is intended to stop reaction between magnesium/ magnelium and oxidizer. Edited February 18 by Zumber 1
