TXpyro Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) Couldn't someone technically use rocket tooling to make fountains instead of using fountain tooling? What are the main differences between the two? Edited December 23, 2023 by TXpyro
Zumber Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Fountain needs low thrust and it must not burst during functioning. Where as rocket need thrust to take off. Major difference is in pressure. Plus fountain uses spark producing metals like iron boring or titanium etc so nozzle diameter needs to be more to reduce pressure and to come coarse metal easily out from nozzle.
Arthur Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 A rocket has a burn time of 2 - 6 seconds, a fountain may burn for 15 - 60 seconds. The compound is different and the powder is pressed to a different shape.
