Twignberry Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 A warm hello to everyone from Perth, Aus. Thanks to all the members here and the internet in general for posting up such detailed accounts of successes, failures and cautionary tales. With a bit of research over the last 3 months I've been able to safely come from scratch to briquette charcoal starmines shooting 1 ft to fully functional 3"shells with charcoal, glitter and coloured chlorate stars. I've finally joined to tap into the collective knowledge to get past a roadblock I've hit making a pure green star without noticable yellow. Hope to be able to give something back to the community, particularly the budding Aussie pyro's having trouble sourcing base chems/materials
ORMDale Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) Greetings all. I've spent untold hours and days reading through the forums here since coming across this site. An absolute wealth of information, and you folks actually take the time to spell entire words, form sentences, and use punctuation! I love it. I created an account firstly because I just wanted to say thanks for the resource. I have no doubt that some serious injuries have been prevented by the the information shared here, and by those of you who've been hurt, having the courage to share your stories. I've been a firebug since around the time i was able to see. The 4th of July was the day each year that I waited for, the way most kids wait for Christmas. I did a lot of stupid things as a kid, made a lot of various "devices" that I now look back at in amazement over the fact I was never blinded or dismembered. Riding our bikes up to the the supermarket to spend my allowance on boxes of matchbooks was a regular thing, a pair of tin snips waiting at home to quickly remove the heads.. But anyway, I'm grown, my kids are grown, I'm now cautious almost to the extreme, but I'm still a pyro and always will be. I like fire and noise. Dale Edited October 5, 2014 by ORMDale
