My name is Jeff and I'm here to learn more about pyrotechnics in order to introduce them into the world of fire spinning!

Hello Jeff. Welcome. I am not too sure much of our hobby transfers over to fire spinning very well but I could be wrong. There are a few techniques you may find useful. Look up colored methanol flames for a start.

AWESOME!

Dag, I somehow got the idea that your son is a fire spinner. Is that right? Edited by BurritoBandito

Yes, my second oldest is a performer in the summer time. We did Sugar Rocket fuel in tubes for him as well as colored flame for his poi.

Sunny, please take down your free $10 post, that's not cool.

Hello everyone!

My name is Bill and I have been lurking here off and on for several years, finally decided to join, seems like a wonderful community yall' have created. I just wanted to say hi and thanks for all the great information. I'll continue to absorb all the info I can and hopefully be building small pyro projects before too long. Thanks again to all the contributors keep up the good work!

Hello
I have always been fascinated with pyrotechnics, and the chemistry thereof, and want to begin to learn to make them. I'm hoping this forum will be of help to me.

Hey all, name's Dennis (yea, pretty unoriginal name...oh well)

I grew up with my folks always buying stuff every year for Independence Day. I want to take it a step further!

I've been reading and already have taken in quite a bit. It will be quite a while before I get into making anything obviously, but someday!

I tried to take a training seminar at Pyrotecnico since I live about 20 mins from their main office, but they aren't doing anything until next year. Looking forward to it!

Most of the display operator training classes are in March or April. If you are close to Pyrotechnico, you are probably close to a class offered by Zambelli as well. Extreme Pyrotechnics may also have a shooter school that way too. Once we get in to Winter, keep an eye out for announcements about them. They only teach the basics about shoot site safety and 1123. Students also get chance to fire a shell or two and witness a failure demonstation. I recommend the class to anyone interested in pyro, but you will gain more knowledge if you join a crew on shows or join a local club. Crackerjacks, Mid-Atlantic Pyro Association, or maybe NEOPAG if the greater Cleveland area is not too far.

Hello,

My name is Jim and I'm having fun researching pyrotechnics. I've read a number of extensive texts from the 40's through the 70's and feel like I'm getting a newcomers understanding of the subject. Now it is time to start putting the knowlege into practice and I look forward from learning from the members.

Welcome Jim! Pull up a chair and read...

Hello everyone. My Name is James. Love your site and the info I've gained from all your knowledge. Look forward to continue using this site and gaining pyrotechnic knowledge. I am currently looking into ematches. Any info on what is the easiest, safest and where to purchase would be greatly appreciated. I'm just a small time camper outdoors type who amazed by beginner pyrotechnics and all the different tips and tricks everyone has. Safety obviously is my biggest concern but would like to start out making some small Ghost mines. Any recomendatiions are greatly appreciated. Sorry for the rambling.

Hi..I'm Mike (medmike) and I'm crossing over to the dark side of manufacturing for hobby instead of just shooting. Wife not thrilled when I tell her "look what I made". She would rather I buy and shoot only! Just learning so will be lurking around for a while.

Great site!

Hey, I feel ya Mike. My wifes not too keen on the idea of me manufacturing these days either. Welcome to APC.

Weird. Your wife should be thrilled you can still come up with that idea... I'll never figure out how females work.

How are the hands healing up?

B!
