Talon96 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Hello all I'm Bob mainly ride quads but for some reason I picked fireworks for my second hobby. Wife got pissed bc after many days reading up on fireworks I ordered around 500 in supplies. Lol. I'm making 2 1/2" shells. And they are getting better with every try. Trial and error is how I'm learning. So far. I'm doing ok. The only problem I have is my BP for some reason I can't get it hard. That sounds funny. L. But over all I find it very interesting how u can mix a bunch of chemicals together and get something beautiful out of it. I guess that's abt it. And I'm from. Pa. Thank you for having me. Bob

Adamdragon6 Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Hi, I'm Adam and I've been working for a display crew for a few years and am interested in learning how to craft some of the fireworks I've been shooting. I enjoy learning just about anything.
PYROBLUE Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Hi. Just a newb gathering info. Have found forums to be the best way to do so. Thanks
Vulcan Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Hello all, I've been lurking for a few years now and finally need to increase my forum/human interoperability. I live in the Amarillo area, which is cool because you can shoot just about anything you want all year round and no one bothers you. It is kindof a pyro blackhole as far as clubs and wholesalers are concerned though. Oh well, you can't have everything.
vorex Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 been lurking for a few years -- finally going to take the plunge and start making some basic things.
alpinecb Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Hi my name is Charles and I hope to become addicted to Pyro. So far been doing bp in a ball mill, first bp rockets, and ordering stuff for whistle and strobes. Made own ball mill with 8" jar and 1/4 hp gear reduced drive, using a combination of lead and brass 1" media. Lucky to have access to a lathe and mill . Finally got the bp burning hot (enough to burn) using skylighter airfloat, next test of eastern ceder shavings to make charcoal using TULD. Looking forward to learning alot. Been reading everything I can find for about 3 months. Spending a fortune on chemicals (wow shipping hurts). Be safe and have fun! (from Bama)
nwpyro Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Woah, was it a pain to register here... Took a bit to align the pictures perfectly, then the email confirmation links are incorrect... Had to edit the url to get it to work! That needs to be fixed... Anyway... Hi guys, I love D1 Glitter! Going to try comets this year for the first time if I manage to get the time...

dagabu Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Welcome Andrew! Remember to go slow and be safe. This is not a safe hobby and it is not a cheap hobby, be prepared for both.
TYRONEEZEKIEL Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Very true dag. It gets significantly cheaper if you have atf certifications. But either way we are still burning money. Welcome. You will learn so much here
