Need Safety Advice asap!

I need safety advice asap! The engine I am using has a max lift off weight of 113.2 grams. The rocket I just made is sort of a beraq. First a large Salute, 3 smaller ones and another large one. The finished rocket weighs 103g. Is this safe, will it lift off? Dont exactly want 20g of flash going off on the ground.

From what you’ve said it should lift off, but if you want to make sure make another rocket motor and put 103g on it to see if it will take off. Make the case the same of the dumpy shell on it the same as the other so you get the same amount of drag.

Based on what? Is this the max you've lifted with a similar motor before?

If it were me, I would back-off on the max weight by at least 10% or 15% just to be certain that your rocket will have sufficient lift, so it sounds like you're probably about right. And I would use a loonnnng fuse and be way the hell away when it attempted liftoff, just in case the headings turn into impromptu ground effects :o .

Good luck.

The motor is an este B6-4, thats how I know the max lift off.

It flew about half as high, still safe though. OMG I cant do that again unless I have some land. My mom didnt catch it on tape cause the camera said battery too low to record :(:(:(:( NOOOOOOOO! One huge bang, another mild one three smaller ones and the biggest for last. I do have a pic though. What an amazing sight, just wow. I think Im gonna cry  100g of Flash was a bit too much lmao.

Its an Estes B6-4 Engine inside a 3/4" silver tube from pyrocreations filled with flash and mg, fused to another of the same tube filled with bp and 3 small flash salutes and then a 1" cup filled with flash and mg.

Yep, this is the sort of device that is NOT recommended for beginners, or anyone else for that matter - FP salutes electrically taped to an Estes engine. Generally bad idea, and a good way to give pyrotechnics yet another black eye.
