Uarbor Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 I top 10 Phantom to buy some fuse. The prices are like I have never seen. I can't imagine who could afford the stuff. The best example was one single shot mortar is $39.99. For one shot. And there did not seem to be a price break for purchasing a mortar kit. They can keep it I'll make my own. I do usually purchase a long roll of firecrackers or something but not this year. Amazingly the green safety fuse and the green fast fuse are a bargain at $11 for 20 ft. And I get half off as a premier member. So I stocked up on fuse. But everything else was priced Out Of Reach even with half off. I did break down and buy a 200 shot Saturn missile price at $40 I got it for 20. I understand inflation but the prices are triple what they were last year and it was ridiculous then.
SharkWhisperer Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 No it's ridiculous the price of fuse from retailers these days. And Phantom (and TNT) are the worst of the worst. For everything. I will do without before I'd ever give them my money. Yeah, nobody's making 50 mg crackers and weaving them together, though. They're costs went up but as you know they were bandits to begin with and are only worse now. Buddy picked up 10,000 feet of fuse not long ago and is selling it for reasonable prices (given current climate), though way more than pre-pandemic. If you're not local though, hazmat just isn't worth it for fuse alone unless you're buying a quarter mile. Kudos to the folks who stocked up when it was clear that covid was impacting shipping out of China. The material costs for US visco probably did not go up enough to account for the doubling in retail price in 2020/2021, so that seems to be folks just taking advantage. But the sparky chicom visco at $11/20 feet is just nuts. That stuff was priced high at $3.99 all over in 2019. Feel sorry for the folks wiring up backyard shows with gray fast fuse at the same price, yipes! That's when the value of BM and QM become more apparent than ever.

I did not feel too bad about the fuse because I get half off. But still I wish I had stocked up sooner. I still have a bunch of American VSCO from last year but I like that fast Chinese visco perfect timing for my rocket headers
