Richtee Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Not the best quality pict, but the food was excellent._________________________________________________\Remembrance Day (Archaic)One rarely thinks on some of the things that are the most important. We tend to take for granted “certain unalienable rights”. We just wake up in the morning and BOOM… even before our coffee or whatever..there they are.We don’t often ponder why we find “these truths to be self-evident”. And we just assume that we are entitled to “life, love and the pursuit of happiness”.I admit to it myself, in the work-a-day world I lose sight of exactly WHY I am allowed to be complacent and indeed take for granted many things that should not be taken for granted. First and foremost of them are the service men and women whom have given their lives to allow me the freedom and comfort I have today. The freedom and comfort to choose my labors and my pleasures. To raise a family as I see fit. To speak my mind, and to act my conscience. This is one day when we pay homage and shed a tear for those who have given all their freedoms, loves and families so we may have ours.I wish more people considered this. It may just temper a poor decision or selfish choice that seem all too often to be made today. I cannot say I’m not guilty of such, but I can say a moment of reflection is sometimes all it takes to avoid a pitfall. It’s time to make America beautiful again. Stand above the crap of politics, shout down the evil ideals and factions trying to weaken us, act with community spirit and pride. Honor them. So, this Memorial Day…reflect on why you have the freedom and the choices you have. And By God- make those people whom gave their lives for you to have those choices proud! Some Gave AllAll gave some, yet some gave allwithout a question, none at allAsked to do what was rightfor their country they joined the fightSome widows wept, and orphaned sonsdads laid low by enemy's gunsthroughout time it's been this waybut for their lives we live todayA stronger nation than we could bewithout the lives given for theeso please remember through it allall gave some, and some- gave all.RT
Uarbor Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 OMG... sooo many flags not only is there a full size flag for every veteran there is a bronze plaque at the bottom of each flag with the veterans name and years of service. Every telephone pole in town has a flag with a photo honor of every veteran taken while they were in uniform. A truly patriotic place that I have proud to be from 1

"Freedom has a price the protected will never know...". 17 years later I have experienced that to be true as I look at people around me and today's society. Of(prob wrong place for this, sorry).
