cmjlab Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) For what it's worth, there is some interesting info on the "cold spark" fountains and machines at the following site (it's quite interesting). https://www.theatrefx.com/cold-spark-machine-facts.html BLUF: Cold spark machines use a high heat exhaust fan to ignite titanium particles as they are blown out of the device. Titanium particles that small lack the mass necessary to transfer enough heat to burn skin if held far enough from the ejection port. Do the same thing with a piece of paper and it would likely ignite. The "cold" sparks only applies to silver, as different metals with higher burning temps are used for gold sparks.
