vanBassum Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Hello, I made a simple star rolling machine that I wanted to try out. This was a great opportunity for my to try some compositions I have wanted to test for a while now. Blue to red star:The first star is a color changing star, that starts out with a blue color and then fades to red. This was achieved by rolling a star with composition "C03 McLain Keystone red" (See below.) After this, I added a second layer of composition "C04 Conkling blue #2". Finally, the stars were primed with some rocket fuel, "C02 Rocket fuel with sparks". A few percent dextrin was added as a binder. Notes during testing:- The stars are quite difficult to ignite, a better prime is required.- I am not happy with the blue color, this is a bit too white for my taste. Test on the ground: Test from star mine: Williams glitter star:The second star consists of "C01 Williams No-Antimony Glitter" composition and was primed with the same rocket fuel "C02 Rocket fuel with sparks". A few percent dextrin was added as a binder. Notes during testing:- Star is easy to ignite, this prime is sufficient.- The effect is quite nice.- I would like to try and coat this composition around a dragon-egg. I think this would add a great effect.
