It should be noted many people consider Lloyd Scott Oglesby to be out of his mind, and in some cases dispute his chemistry. All I am saying is take it with a grain of salt. It is a good read though, expecially for those of us interested in the chemistry of pyrp.

I'm looking for the following files; apparently the folder in which I store my reference books has become corrupted. From backups, I was able to restore everything besides these (3):

d_Incarville__Feux_d_Artifice_Chinois_--_1763.pdf

Professional_Homemade_Salutes.pdf

projects_for_the_amateur_scientist.pdf

Thanks guys.

Edit: Looks like I filled my own request for one of them

You can have them shipped from the US. Skylighter carries them, as does Prometheus Publications. Media mail, the service used to ship books and papers and other literature is very cheap, even internationally. They could probably be shipped for less than $10 worldwide

I think its cheaper on amazon.com for Dr Takeo Shimizu's book on pyrotechnics.

-I've just ordered it, which should make some very intersting outside reading. Mumbles, would you suggest any other good books on pyrotechnic to buy/find?

I'll give a run down of the neccesities.

Shimizu - Fireworks: Art Science, and Technique

Lancaster - Firework Principles and Practice

Davis - Chemistry of Powder and Explosives

Hardt - Pyrotechnics

Ellern - Military and Civilian Pyrotechnics

Pyrotechnica 9 and 11 Sometimes referred to as the Fulcanelli papers

Degn - Westech Fireworks Manual

Weingart - Dictionary and Manual of Fireworks

Those books/papers will give you everything you need to know about pyro, and probably a lot more you don't need to know. They cover just about every topic I can think of. No pyro literature collection is complete without them. A few more below are recomended. They're a bit more specific, but extremely good resources. BAFN is more tips and tricks than anything, but also extremely usefull.

Blesser - Round Stars and shells

Oglesby - Glitter: Chemistry and Techniques

Dimock - Incomplete book of girandolas

Heh, thats gotta be $300 at the minimu.. Does anyone have a copy of intro practical pyrotechnics? I really would like a copy, but I have nothing to offer :(

Try more like $500. I never said pyro was cheap. I would say get a Shimizu, and Introductory Practical pyrotechnics first. They will run you around around $130, and will probably provide you with the best results. Degn and lancaster are the next I would get in hind sight (~$180). Ellern, Davis, Weingart, and the Pyrotechnica can be found online. HarryC from rec.pyro put them on limewire or something. They should be floating around somewhere. Passfire is also an excellent resource. It however is more for the intermediate pyro. It doesn't have a lot of beginner projects, but it does have a lot very important techniques and such.

e-mail this address and ask for the latest catalog. You can pick up a few of the recomended books cheaper.

Several more can be had from the following site.
