First, what is the name of the company that fabricates "American visco" fuse?

Is "visco" a proper noun, i.e. "Visco"? Where did the name originate?

What's the secret sauce ingredient that makes "flying fish" so snappy, and can an amateur recreate that compound for other applications?

I'm using various standard visco fuses from CannonFuse.com [fast shipping, good prices], and having some misfires probably due to using a wee droplet of glue to secure the fuse. Of course water-base glues will dampen and ruin the fuse, but will hot glue affect the burn? How about a drop of epoxy?
