psyco_1322 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Seymour, I would be highly interested in some high powered rocket formulas, especially colored ones. If you don't mind and if you have some, can you send them to me? It's something I'm trying to get around to getting into. High powered rocketry that is.
TYRONEEZEKIEL Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 APCP motors are beautiful things. I make them all the time with my dad and several buddies from our rocket clubs. Its so cool how even 1-3% copper oxide is all thats used and still makes a beautiful blue. Even with 325 uncoated magnesium.!!! Who ever said that metallic blues are non existing. well sort of.. when making these rockets, you must first "wet the metals" by mixing the plasticizers, crosslinkers etc. just about everything but the binder. then adding the magnesium. Thus coating it i guess. R-45 is the way to go. save for its expense compared to PBAN.
