Alehuta Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 I have some HDPE tubes leftover from a kit I had for the 4th. However, I'm looking to add a few more tubes. Not quite to the point of doing racks yet. I noticed all the tubes I see online do not include any sort of base for stability. Just curious what you guys use for bases on HDPE tubes. 1.75 inch, and maybe 3 inch down the road if I decide to venture that route. Thanks!
Arthur Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 (edited) Tube bases can be bought retail in the States. Otherwise I mould them using polyester resin and a mould made from waxed paper. A Vyna Mould material may also help to make moulds for moulding polyester resin. Skylighter ( dot com) sell some sizes of card mortars and some sizes of bases and several sizes of ready plugged mortars (but these need racks or individual support). Edited January 1, 2021 by Arthur
Mumbles Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 Most guns outside of consumer ones are not going to have bases. They are generally going to be racked for multiples. They'll tend to be wired to a ground stake or buried for single guns. Smaller guns, up to probably 3" are easy enough to do in a bucket full of dirt or cat litter or something. If you have several out there, you may want to stake them or stake the bucket so they don't get tipped over.
