Mitchell Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Hey there first post. I have a couple different colored stars rolled up to about quarter inch and I was wondering if I could use c6 as the rest of the star and if c6 will be enough to light the colored portion. Or should I include a layer of hot prime or monocappa between the color and c6. And do I need to prime the c6?
Carbon796 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 The c6 shouldn't need prime.Using a intermediate hot prime is cheap insurance for good reliable ignition.
Mitchell Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 Got it thanks. What is a hot prime that would work for all colored stars?
Carbon796 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 With nitrate/KP based colors you can use a kp/nitrate based hot prime. But, if you also make AP colors, you should use a KP only based hot prime, so it is compatible with everything you make. And, you don't have to keep mixing up different primes.
Mitchell Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 Got it. I have only played with nitrate and kp based colors so I will stick with a kp nitrate prime. Thanks!
Carbon796 Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 The monocappa is probably your best bet then. It seems to have a pretty good following.
