rellim Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Seems to be an ad. There is a link to another video where he is pouring a dozen or so large MgAl ingots.
SharkWhisperer Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 (edited) Seems to be an ad. There is a link to another video where he is pouring a dozen or so large MgAl ingots. Not sure how you're arriving there, but I repeatedly arrive at a YouTube video entitled""Magnalium 325/5000 mesh flash powder" that shows some idiot, apparently indoors, igniting approx 1/4 gram of flash by repeatedly dipping a smoldering piece of string into it until it pops. Unsafe and a very poor example any way you look at it... Per Rellim, he does also provide a link in the first video to a second video of ingot production. If it's an ad, he doesn't list contacts/costs/location that I could see. Edited March 8, 2020 by SharkWhisperer
pyrokid Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Why don't you clowns think and maybe read for a minute before you make forum posts? Kleberrios has been a great contributor to this forum for many years, and his work with MgAl alloys is very interesting and valuable. Please apologize.
SharkWhisperer Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Kleb's an adept pyro, and I've appreciated many of his accomplishments. That said, please provide more details in your descriptions. A lot of newbies who are not familiar with your work, or who do not subscribe to your YouTube channel, might link to that video alone and decide it's a safe maneuver to test their flash by dipping a burning string into it repeatedly until it finally pops. That is probably not the tutorial we want newbies learning about flash from. Keep up the good work but please provide more detailed descriptions of your tests. And please remember that there are a lot of inexperienced kids looking to blast flash and make salutes that need solid, and repeated, safety advice. Some young blood might try that string ignition method with a much bigger pile of flash than you did and lose some skin in the process.
