Thats pretty does anyone know how to make flying fish fuse but don't answer yet I will tell you if I really need to know I haven't looked yet

I don't know anyone who has ever made it, only purchased. I've made some pretty energetic fuses, but nothing compared to flying fish. That stuff really takes off. Perhaps if I contained the energetic fuses in the string wrappings it could do the trick.

Also aerial shell made with flying fish fuse make a good result ^_^

I try the flying fish aerial shell, and i use the same shell 4 TIME ! the shell dosen't break, just the end cap are "popped" out of the shell, thats amazing ! its sure i want to make a 100mm silver flying fish in a

plastic spherical shell, i imagine the amazing result !

I like to put a single shot flying fish mine in the top of my roman candles, it adds a really nice effect. I wouldn't recommend holding it though.

Wow awesome pic don’t have any flying fish fuse though...might get some just for this. Little more info would be useful (dimensions length of fuse number of fuse proper assembly) I am a stickler for extremely precise tutorials (I like to know what I’m doing)

Dispite having some, i havn't really messed around with it.

That first mine pic is very beautiful!

I'm going to have to try some more in shells.

I'm addicted to this stuff! I do a lot of 2" and 2-1/2" shells, and some 4oz rockets, and flying fish are great effects in these. They get sort of "lost" in bigger shells, due to higher break heights, but on anything under 200' they're super. I just cut the end with a slash cut and mix them in with the break charge.

Another fun effect is to wrap three lengths of crackling fuse to the top of the shell in you last paste layer. You have a quick-and-easy rising comet effect for small shells.

(dimensions length of fuse number of fuse proper assembly)

this is the lenght of flying fish fuse and the duration....

flying fish fuse

1/2 " = 1.5 sec

1" = 2.0 sec

1 1/2"=2.5 sec

2 " = 3.0 sec

2 1/2" 3.5 sec

3 " 4.0 sec

3 1/2" =4.5 sec

4 " =5.0 sec

It should be noted that some of the new specialty FF fuses have different burn times. It would probably be best to get the burn time you desire and get the length from the actual burn rate.

By the way, those timings don't make sense, I think there is an error. There is no way a 1" piece of fuse burns for 2 seconds, but if I cut the same piece in half, each half burns for 1.5 seconds. Double the fuse length should have double the burn time. 2" should burn for twice as long as 1".

I just mean , longuer is your fuse, longuer the effect is produce in the air .

damn ! yeah i have a vid but i put on a vhs videotape (make a pyro movie  )

Yes that is a long exposure pic. If you look up some vid's of FFF flying you'll see it has a pretty short tail from a distance. Aerial shells almost look like a super fast peony.

last week i make a 50mm mine with Crackling stars + flying fish fuse + 3 salutes (about 15mm cylindrical) with flash 70:30 and I use Granular Bp (about 25g) the mine work succesfully ! A big crackling with Lot of silver flying fish and 2 sec after..sudently..Bang! Bang! Bang! all salute explode about 15 meters in the air ! its an amazing success!

The fuse pieces were about 1/2" each, thats why it did not last long at all.
